Needed Support for the African American Affairs Commission

Good evening family and friends! Lately I and other concerned citizens have been working on forming an African American Affairs Commission which would represent the needs of African Americans and give us a red telephone to City Hall and Tulsa County. Jack Henderson our District One City Councilor for 14 years has not supported this effort. We currently have a Hispanic Affairs Commission, Native American Affairs Commission, Woman's Affairs Commission and Human RightsCommission. After two protests from the community and ignoring our requests to be included in the process; Mayor Dewey Bartlett is now deciding to form an African American Affairs Commission staffed by people "HE" choose and once again, leaving us out of the process. I do not agree with that! An African American Affairs Commission should be staffed by people in the "COMMUNITY" and organizations that "WE" choose and trust.
